Yes, gas fires can give off carbon monoxide so should be checked and serviced every year to ensure they remain safe when your fire is installed you must fill out your warranty and register your fire otherwise your warranty will be invalid but also if you do service the fire regularly and can provide certificates to prove its service history then the warranty will be invalid.
